Τhe contract was signed between Attiko Metro S.A. and Joint Venture “J&P-AVAX S.A. – GHELLA S.p.A. – ALSTOM TRANSPORT S.A.” for the construction of the project “Extension of Line 3, section Haidari – Piraeus”.
This Project constitutes an investment in areas of Piraeus and other Municipalities in the wider area.
The Scope is the preparation of the Detailed Design, the construction of Civil Works, supply,
installation, testing, the commissioning of the electromechanical and railway equipment, and as well
as, the maintenance of the Project.
The alignment of the proposed extension of Line 3 from Haidari Forestation up to Dimotiko Theatro
Forestation is approximately 7.55 km long and it includes six (6) new Stations.
Ventilation / Blast shafts are also included; these shafts are located in the area on either side of each
station and are either incorporated into each Station, or they constitute separate structures in the
vicinity of the Station.
The Project is constructed according to the technical specifications as these are specified in the
contractual documents and by complying, at least with all the requirements of the current Greek laws,
standards, codes, regulations, provisions etc.
The first three stations of the extension “Aghia Varvara”, “Korydallos” and “Nikaia” were put into
commercial use begging of July 2020.
It is scheduled for the rest three stations of the extension, “Maniatika”, “Piraeus” and “Dimotiko Theatro” to be delivered in 2022.
