Bismayah 2, Combined Cycle Power Plant of 1500 MW

The 1500MW Besmayah Phase II com bined cycle power plant is located in the South East area of Baghdad next to the Besmaya housing project.

The objective of this project is to extend the power plant by two proven combined cycle power blocks according to international standards for independent power production. The simple cycle phase 2 of the plant will consist of 4 pcs GE 9FA 3-series gas turbines and all auxiliaries. The combined cycle part of phase 2 consists of: Four I Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG), Two steam turbines , two air cooled condensers and all necessary or required equipment and systems to make the resultant plant a safe, reliable, efficient combined cycle power generating facility.

The project has delivered 1000 MW in Simple Cycle Phase in Summer 2018. Combined Cycle Phase is to finish by February 2020.
