The hotel is located in Kefalari, a quiet residential area in Athens’ northern suburb of Kifisia.
Owned by YES! Hotels & Restaurants, TwentyOne is a 5-star City Resort Hotel designed by DECA Architects which received its first guests in April 2005.
It offers easy access (5min walk) to Kifisia, a prestigious commercial centre and nightlife hot spot in the north of Athens, as well as to the business district of Marousi (10min by car). Traveling to and from the new international airport of the Greek capital only takes about 15-20 minutes using the Athens Ring Road, while downtown Athens with its commercial and historic attractions is around 30 minutes away, either by car or by bus or metro.
TWENTYONE
The hotel name comes from playing around that number: the hotel it is situated on # 21 of its street address and has 21 guest rooms.
Gray is the dominant exterior colour of the building which is characterised by the glass face of the elevator next to the main hotel entrance.
Staying at the Hotel
Our “game” with the number 21 is applied to every detail, with each room number displayed in full writing and making creative use of red colour and the 21 cubes comprising the hotel logo.
All interior levels are dominated by black and white colours with red touches, while room floors are wooden.
All furniture items are “transformed” into useful objects, for instance a chair which is part of the locker. Bathrooms are highlighted by sand-blasted glass and are ingeniously integrated into room architecture.
A single art piece measuring 70 meters was conceived by artist Georgia Sagri exclusively for the hotel. A section of this art conception covers a wall in each guest room, thereby resulting in 21 different art pieces. A scale model of the integrated art conception is presented at the hotel reception area.
Guest Rooms
The hotel comprises 16 efficiently arranged rooms, all fitted with 24-hour free internet access, 21-inch TV with plasma screen, DVD & CD integrated sound systems, fully equipped mini bar and electronic safe.
Loft Suites
The penthouse features 5 spacious loft suites, with interior stairway and sitting room. The long skylight roof above the suite beds offers guests a choice between sky views and electronically-activated darkness.
Cafe-Bar-Restaurant «21»
The cafe-bar and the restaurant feature a separate entrance from the hotel area stretching outwards from the main building to benefit from the natural surroundings, rendering them ideal meeting places for hotel guests and visitors alike.
The “game” with the street number is evident here too: the name of the area is numerical, in contrast to the full writing of the hotel areas.
Inside the restaurant, artistic creations at select spots highlight varying architectural aspects of the bar and the restaurant, complementing the overall hotel philosophy.
Restaurant 21 offers delightful choices for breakfast and “smart” proposals of contemporary Mediterranean cousine, capable of satisfying any preference.
The bar offers a wide variety of refreshing cocktails and is an ideal meeting point, starting in the morning and lasting well into the late night hours.
